Do Your Own Research (DYOR): a motto that every crypto trader lives by. Getting into the world of trading digital currencies requires a thorough amount of research to prevent being duped by scams or making loss making investments. Do Your Own Research (DYOR) as a term became popularized from 2016 onwards, when the crypto space was inundated with get-rich-quick schemes that a lot of naïve traders bought into, who were later swindled out of their money. As DYOR quickly infiltrated popular culture, the phrase’s use expanded leading it to be used to advise all sorts of new investors navigating a minefield of misinformation.
