Beauty in diversity
Kristel Bechara is a Dubai-based contemporary visual artist celebrated for her distinctive fusion of vibrant patterns and expressive colors set against monochromatic backgrounds. Her work places the female form at center stage, telling stories of strength, diversity, and empowerment through a bold visual language that bridges digital design and traditional painting.
With roots in graphic design, Kristel made the leap to full-time art practice after moving to Dubai over 19 years ago, drawing on her sharp eye for composition, layout, and visual storytelling to develop a signature style that merges her love of fabrics, graphic patterns, and painting into dynamic, layered compositions. Her work has been exhibited internationally in Tokyo, Milan, London, Côte d’Azur, Miami, and Brussels, and featured in Forbes Magazine, Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar ART, and Wired.
A pioneer in the region’s digital art space, Kristel was the first female artist from the Middle East to adopt NFT technology into her practice. She has collaborated with global brands including Glenfiddich, Lenovo, Samsung, Meta (Instagram), General Motors, Birkenstock, RedBull, and WIO Bank, and most recently brought her art into the immersive space through a collaboration with Kanvas.
Kristel works from her studio in Dubai’s Onyx Tower, where she continues to push the boundaries of contemporary figurative art.
