Caerus - The Fleeting Moment

Caerus, the forever youthful Greek god who personifies opportunity and luck, had the ability to bring about favourable moments at his will, which were fleeting and quick to miss. He is immediately recognizable from his unique hairstyle that consisted of luscious locks of hair covering the front of his head while being completely bald at the back. Since Caerus was capable of running at great speed, it was difficult to capture him as there was nothing to grab on to, not even by the hair on the back of his head – a symbolic reminder of how hard it is to get hold of an opportunity that has just rushed by.
In this oeuvre, we see Caerus in deep contemplation as he gazes at his golden scales which measure the possibility of opportune moments. The golden wings on the heels of his feet grab the viewers’ attention, as if to remind them that in order to make the most of an opportunity, they should be prepared to be quick footed.
